April Showers places forty-seven separate applique shapes across a single background rectangle. The numbered, reversed templates guide the fabric placement, and fusible web holds each shape before its edges are secured with satin or buttonhole stitching. The project uses fat eighths for the colored shapes and a separate fabric for binding. Designed by Whistler Studios, this intermediate quilt finishes at 34 by 40 inches; its Harvest Rain and Holiday Sprinkles versions use the same construction with different fabric collections.
